Interpreting MoMA
Please join us for The Museum of Modern Art’s bimonthly program for individuals who are Deaf or hard of hearing. Each program includes a sign language–interpreted gallery talk focusing on one of MoMA’s exhibitions, along with a wine and cheese reception. In August, we will explore the exhibition Chosen Memories: Contemporary Latin American Art from the Patricia Phelps de Cisneros Gift and Beyond. “History is a living organism,” said the Brazilian artist Rosângela Rennó, one of the 40 artists featured in the exhibition. Together with curatorial assistant Julia Detchon, we will take a multisensory journey to discuss how contemporary Latin American artists address history and memory in their work. Interpreting MoMA is free of charge. Space is limited and advance registration is required. For more information or to register, please email AccessPrograms@moma.org or call Access Programs at (212) 408-6447. Image Credit: Sheroanawe Hakihiiwe. Stinging Vine (Shihitima thothope). 2020.
